AS9100 Revision D Transition Course


September 2018 is the deadline for transitioning to the new AS9100 Revision D – the quality management system (QMS) standard for aviation, space and defense. This two-day course assists individuals involved in or planning an organization’s transition by highlighting key facets, intent of the requirements, and the implementation process.

The course clarifies requirements that are the most apt to be misinterpreted, prepares participants to identify gaps in their company’s current QMS, and sheds light on how adhering to certain requirements mitigates and avoids product and service issues.

Topics also include:

  • Utilizing risk-based thinking to implement new requirements
  • Methods for meeting and auditing new requirements
  • Impact of AS9100 changes on a company’s QMS and internal audit program

Prerequisites: Substantial knowledge of AS9100 Revision C, ISO 9001: 2008, and key principles of a QMS

Instructor Bio: Peter P. Mancuso

Mr. Mancuso, an AS9100 Rev D certified auditor, has more than 30 years of experience in quality system implementation and quality assurance management at major companies, including DRS Technologies, Northrop Grumman, and ITT Industries. In each role, he has been responsible for all quality training and documentation requirements. He serves on the ASQ Buffalo Section Board and has provided training in quality engineering, quality auditing and Six Sigma Black belt courses.
