Strategic Supply Chain Management

Many businesses are reconfiguring their supply chains to reduce costs, improve quality, provide more customized product and service offerings, and quicken response to customer needs. This two-day interactive workshop – which is also valuable for start-up companies – is focused on global best practices in supply chain integration, as well as how to organize and implement improvement efforts.

Case study examples and a hands-on simulation game will enhance learning as participants are exposed to numerous tools and techniques for redesigning and managing more dynamic supply chains that thrive in challenging global business contexts. It covers traditional within-firm improvement strategies, as well as inter-firm improvement strategies to ensure a coordinated response.

Instructor Bio: Nallan Suresh, PhD

Nallan Suresh, a UB Distinguished Professor, is chair of the School of Management’s Operations Management and Strategy department and an associate director of UB’s Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics. His specializations are Lean manufacturing, logistics and supply chain management. Prior to his academic work, Suresh was an information systems manager in the automotive components manufacturing industry. He has conducted training programs for managers in many countries in North America, Europe and Asia.
